Barney: The Movie

Do not mess with Addy while she is watching Barney: The movie.  Oh my goodness I can not even count how many times she has seen this and LOVES it.  She laughs just as hard at parts like it was the first time she has seen it.  She recites some of the lines and will sit if you let her through the WHOLE movie.  This is not your typical Barney show, this is as I stated a movie!!!

I have snapped a few pictures of Addy while watching because they are hilarious.  She doesn't even blink.  I seriously can not believe her Barney phase has lasted this long.  Her love for him is as strong as ever before.

she brought this chair in to sit on to watch the show

No tears or fuss for Rachel

I recently took Isaac to get his hair cut before school pictures and Rachel  (the lady who always cuts Isaac's hair) asked if she could put Addy's hair in a braid.  I think it bothered her just as much as it does me that Addy won't keep her hair out of her eyes.  I of course said "Please"!!  Then Rachel talked me into trimming just the tips off of her hair to even it out a little and take off the dead ends.  I was a little unsure but once Addy was in the chair and not fussing I said "work your magic."

I can't say Addy was thrilled about this, but she certainly didn't shed one tear and sat still the entire time.  I know I know what you are thinking: why is she blogging about a hair cut, who cares.  Well here it is, the best part to the story:
Addy kept her braid in for three days and let me do her hair without fussing for going on a week now.  A WEEK!!

Now, anybody who knows Addy knows that this is blog writing worthy!!!

A few pics from her hair trim and braid and as you can see she is super excited!

For those in the Roseville area, the is the Roseville kids hair and Rachel is the only person who has cut Isaac's hair here.  She was running late this time for his appointment and they asked if we wanted one of the other free girls to do it.  Isaac quickly responded,"No, I want to wait for Rachel."  She is amazing, everybody should check her out.

Two in school

Look out ECFE because Addy is coming!!!  That's right Addy started school this year right along side her big brother.  We are taking the same class I took with Isaac when he was two years old.  Not the same teacher but through the same program.  I know it will be different, and like my son I hate different.  I want everything to be the same, because everything the first time was perfect.  Taking some of the advice I have been preaching to Isaac I am being open minded and hope to have a great time with Addy.  We already had our first class where she spent a lot of time painting and playing dolls and tea party.  Big surprise, since these are exactly the things she wants to play at home all the time.  It is very interesting to see her in action without her big brother to follow around.  She is usually his shadow, whatever he does so does she.  I very much enjoyed seeing her out on her own, and making all of her own choices.

Here are some pictures from her first day and meet the teacher night.

Another year with new changes

As another year of preschool begins for little Isaac it was a very bittersweet ending to the summer for him.  He learned what summer vacation really means and is not ready for school to start.  Unlike last year he is struggling a bit with being away from home.  His teachers are FANTASTIC and helping him through it, as are we.  If you have any spare prayers, say a couple for Isaac that his anxiety surrounding school subsides soon.

He has a new classroom this year with one new teacher and  one that he had last year.  He also has his best buddies in class with him and that is awesome.  I LOVE knowing most of the mom's and kids in the class.  I LOVE the St. Odilia community and am so happy I decided to go on the 8th preschool tour two years ago in order to find the Right place for Isaac and Addy to begin their school career.

Isaac's favorite part of school so far is gym class.  They visit gym class once a week and they actually have the same gym teacher the rest of the school has, which is awesome for the transition to kindergarten.  His second favorite part he says is when I come and pick him up.  I sure that will change soon but for now, I LOVE being missed and if he only knew that I miss him soooooooooo much more.

Here are some pictures from the first day and meet the teacher day.  Isaac has gotten so tall over the summer, you will be shocked to see this handsome preschool boy.

State Fair

We took the kids out to the fair for what we thought was just going to be a quick trip.  Ha ha joke was on us, we stayed for about 8.5 hours.  The kids were having a great time.  We were there so early in the morning that Seth and Isaac were the very first people down the giant slide for the day.  For those familiar with the fair we spent the majority of our time about 5.5 hours worth in Baldwin Park and surrounding areas.  We never even ventured as far down as the grandstand or even to the animals.  We didn't make it that far before the heat took over and we had to go home.  The morning was perfect but by afternoon the temp was back into the 90's and even Isaac was asking to go home at that point.  I will let you look through the pics to see all the things that kept them busy for so many hours.
