Rockin' her tutu

Who says girls can't play sports in a tutu?  Addy LOVES her swimming suit tutu and wants to wear it often, even when the sprinkler is not on.

Teddy Bear park/Stillwater

A couple weekends ago we took the kids to Stillwater and in particular Teddy Bear Park.  It was a fun morning out.  The kids enjoyed the park, walking down by the river and going to a beach.  The best part however, was the last event which was going to Nelson's for ice cream.  It was insane how much ice cream you get for a child's size cone/cup.  It took the kids almost a week to finish it, and that was sharing one cup.

We made it home right before the rain started.  Glad we were able to squeeze in an outdoor outing.  Sure hope the weather starts to take a turn for the better pretty soon.

My Princess

So often when I am minus one child addy ends up running a bunch of errands with me, or helping me fold laundry or clean something.  Sometimes, I decide that all of that can wait and take Addy on a special outing. Last week, we dropped Isaac off at his camp program at the park and we went shopping but this time for Addy.  We bought a new dress that she immediately had to wear.  Then we headed to one of her favorite places Como zoo.  She wasn't even out of the car yet and she heard the merry go round.  That of course was the first stop.  When the ride was over I literally had to pry her hands off the of the horse, while she quick tried to grab with the other hand.  It was a very sad moment, but she quickly moved on when she knew she was going to see the monkeys.  By far the monkeys are Addy's favorite animal at the zoo, in fact we walked around and saw a few more, and she just kept asking to go back to the monkeys.  We stood in front of the monkey cages for a VERY VERY long time.
It just so happened that it was library day at the zoo, so there was some extra things going on that day.  None of which she was interested in.  She only cared about the monkeys and what they were doing.  If you ask her about her trip to the zoo she will tell you three things: 1. monkey wear a shirt 2. monkey fall down 3. ride horse
It was a very special morning for Addy and I am so glad that we did it.  It was super fun to spend that extra time with her giving her my full attention.  I LOVE our mornings together, even when they are just running errands but these ones are the real memory makers.
so pretty

"I want to ride horse now." That is all I heard in line.

very serious on the ride

The monkey did indeed put on a t-shirt that day, all by himself.  It was pretty cool.

another monkey joined in and put on his t-shirt

This is where we stood for a long long time, talking to the monkey's.  she told the monkey about her pretty new dress and then told me how the monkey put on a shirt.  Very in depth conversation.

Best Friends

Isaac has a great little buddy that he calls his best friend.  They play super well together, always creative and imaginative play.  They teach each other things and it is tons of fun to listen to their conversations.  One day this past week these two had quite the little playdate.  They had so much fun playing outside, getting super super dirty and eating lots of treats.
These two met when they were about 20 months old, although they don't remember that in their first ECFE class.  They have been in class and now preschool together ever since.  In fact writing this post reminds me that I was supposed to call Brady's mommy to see if he can come to the park tomorrow.  Isaac's final request for the day before falling to sleep.
Yes, they were playing in their underwear.  Yelling cannon ball as they jumped into their  sand lake

tamarack nature center

We were lucky enough to go on a playdate with my cousin and her little boys a few weeks back.  We went to Tamarack Nature Center in WBL and the boys and Addy had a blast.  Tons of water, sand, streams and rocks to keep them all busy.  We love it there!  Thanks Jes and Ty for the invite.  Looking forward to playing again soon :)

Bonfire

We have a fire pit in the backyard that we seldom use, but Isaac was asking if we could have a fire.  Seth made a fire and Addy was able to experience her first s'more.  Well...sort of s'more.  We did not have any chocolate so instead I thought they could put some m &m's on the marshmallows.  Addy LOVES m & m's they are by far her favorite treat.  Pretty sure she took one bite of her s'more and then just ate her little bag of m & m's.  I will try to be better prepared for the next backyard fire with real chocolate and maybe she will dig it more.

bandana square trains

When it is mentioned to go see trains you do not need to ask my kids twice.  They LOVE going to anything and everything related to trains.  They get this from their Grandpa David, who loves trains and volunteers at Jackson Street Roundhouse.  One Sunday afternoon when it was pouring rain outside the whole family headed over to Bandana Square for some train time.

Not sure who enjoyed their time more, Grandpa David or the kids.  Thank you again for taking us on this fun filled afternoon!!
