reading with watch out glasses

If you ever wondered if it is easier to read a book with watch out glasses (safety glasses) on just ask our little Addy.  Isaac often puts on these glasses, and calls them his watch out glasses.  One day this is how I found Addy.  She got them on all by herself, don't ask me how and of course the second I run for the camera she is more interested in that.  None-the less you have a small glimpse into what it would be like to read with watch our glasses on, one could say for sure it looks like more fun!!

Big Boy Bike

Isaac has been pretty nervous to put it in his words of riding a big boy bike all summer.  After going to the latest JBF(just between friends) sale I found one for a reasonable price and decided to give it another try.  Not sure what happened, the bike must be magic, he just started riding it.  He LOVES it.  He is already going super super fast, crashes into things and even does tricks like standing up.  It is amazing to see how much he has come this summer.  I am just sad that it is almost winter when he decided to figure it out.

Mommy/Daughter Morning

It isn't often, in fact I am not sure if it has ever happened that just my mom, me and Addy get to spend time together.  Isaac was at pre-school and I decided that I was tired of the hairstyle that Addy was giving herself every day.  Every morning I put her hair up in a pony tail or pig tails and every morning she takes it out!!  She was beginning to look homeless with the hair falling into her eyes and so forth.  So I scheduled an appointment with our long time hair consultant Terry.  Terry gave Emily and I our first haircuts and always did our hair for special occasions including my wedding.  Addy and I met my mom there for a fun filled haircut.  It was extra special since Nana got to hold Isaac in that same chair for his first haircut to repeat and do it with Addy.  Thanks Nana for coming with us!
Addy of course did not disappoint with her free spirit and always being in awe of looking at herself in the mirror.  It was great to spend time together just us girls!

After that...Addy and I continued on to run a few errands and then ended our morning with some lunch.  Again, another first!  I have never had the chance to just take Addy out, and it was so fun.  She sat and ate so nicely and then of course needed to gain attention from our fellow Baja Sol guests.  She spent a lot of time smiling and flirting with many business men who were stopping in for lunch.  We had a great time!  I was so thankful for this precious time to spend one on one with my little princess!!
Emptying our chip container was lots of fun!

So Excited to be at Lunch with Mommy

The water cup was also a big moment.  Such a big girl with her new haircut and big lunch!

Gymnastics

Isaac is taking gymnastics this fall and he is LOVING it.  The coach is very good at keeping the kids all on task and focused.  It is great class to continue working on those listening skills that sometimes Isaac needs help with.  He has been there twice now and both times he has left asking when he gets to go back.  He is one of two boys but that doesn't seem to stop him or make him nervous.  Addy sits and watches him the whole time...thinking I am sure about when she gets to get down there.  I am so glad we enrolled him in this class.

Addy pets a baby horse

Addy and I are still trying to figure out how to spend our three hours while Isaac is at pre-school.  Not as easy as I thought to try to balance errand running and still wanting to give Addy some one on one Mommy time.  Last week we managed to do both in the same day.  We stopped by the Roseville library for a family story time which she was not thrilled about.  Sitting still for stories no matter where we are is not up her alley.  However, they had a special guest at this story time that she was more than excited about.  A baby horse was there for the kids to pet.  Addy made her way to the front of the line and was one of the first to pet that sweet little horse.  It took a while for her to share with other kids.  Addy LOVES animals and now can even say puppy.  Maybe being a vet is in her future?!

Isaac ran his 1st 1K

At Isaac's pre-school they had an opportunity for the kids to run a 1K as a way to kick off the fall festival.  It was super cute with various stations along the path where the kids were supposed to hop, skip, crab crawl, etc.  It helped to keep them excited as they ran around the school and church property.  Isaac completed the whole thing and then was able to enjoy some time at the park and festival with Daddy and Addy.
It was time for the little kids to line up for their start

Soccer

Isaac is playing soccer this fall through the same park and rec that he played blastball with this summer.  I am not sure he likes it as much as blastball, in fact I know he doesn't.  I know for sure that soccer is a much harder sport for the kids to learn than blastball.  I am working on various theories but I am pretty sure me being a volunteer coach has a lot to do with it.  I thought it would be fun to be involved in one of Isaac's activities when the opportunity presented itself, however it is very hard to coach others and your son at the same time.  Isaac doesn't seem to want to share my attention.  I should be flattered right?  But instead it makes for a frustrating 50 minutes.  Hopefully, the next four weeks Isaac will get more used to it and will want to participate more.

Seth ran another 5k

Seth ran another 5K over the weekend.  This time in his hometown of North St Paul.  All the proceeds of the run went for cancer so it was a great cause and I am pretty sure he had a great time.  The kids and I along with a few family members were there to cheer him on at the finish line.  Seth is already looking forward to his next run in October.

State Fair with Daddy!

This year Seth and Isaac conquered the fair by themselves while I worked at the band shell a couple of hours for Papa.  All three of us had a great time.  I was super impressed by everything they did out there and how LONG they were out there for.  Pretty sure they were out there at least 8 hours!!!  I am also pretty sure they did not get pictures of everything but Seth did a great job capturing the highlights in my absence.   I will let the pictures explain their trip.
