Addy and her sleep

There is just something about Daddy's arms that makes Addy fall asleep these days.  I can go read stories to Isaac and come back and Addy is passed out in Seth's arms.  No rocking, walking or singing, she just falls asleep.  This is something she never does for me, she makes me walk, feed sing, you name it.  It is just not fair but I guess it is their special thing to have together.

so tired!

Neither one of them could even lay down this time before they were both passed out.

Walk for Thought

Last year out niece McKenna was hurt in gym class while playing capture the flag.  By hurt I mean she is suffering from a Traumatic Brain Injury and her life has been turned upside down.  Unable to go back to school, watch t.v., surf the web or even read her days as you can imagine are long and she is in constant pain.  Soooo the least we could do was head out to the lake on a cold saturday morning to walk with others suffering from the same and many different brain injuries.  The Walk for Thought was a great way to show our support for Kenna and hope that soon she will regain her strength and be able to get back to her "normal" teenage life.

Oh and I should mention that Isaac walked/rode his trike for all but 5 minutes of the walk.  So proud of him and he still didn't nap in case you were wondering!
Don Shelby was a guest speaker at the walk.  Kenna got to meet him.

Race Car Bed

About two weeks ago I put Isaac in his crib and about ten minutes later he appeared out in the kitchen.  I have been waiting for this day to come and was hoping I still had more time left.  So....needless to say the crib was taken down and the big boy bed assembled.  He LOVES his race car bed!  He mostly loves to play in it and sleeping well that is something different.  We are struggling with redirecting him to his bed at night and making him stay in bed.  He loves to get out and see what everyone else is doing.  He often tells us he needs to ask us a question, go potty or that he is soooo hungry.  He also wakes up very early these days and still doesn't nap so he goes to bed VERY early!!  BUT lately, it takes a while to get him down and stay in his bed and asleep.  We are not a fan of this new routine but hopefully soon we will have him broke of this annoying habit of getting out of bed.  We welcome any suggestions from people who have had this same problem :)

Projects!

I have discovered that on the weekends Lowes and Home depot have special projects for young kids and their parents to build.  They get to have an apron and collect pins and badges to show their accomplishments.  This past time I had to take Isaac since Seth was at class and let's face it I am not that handy.  So Grandma and Grandpa Miller came to my rescue and helped Isaac.  I was very impressed with Isaac's hammering skills already and patience with putting this police car together.  It was so fun to see, and although the car looks very different now (loved and played with a lot) Isaac will always have this memory of building this with Grandpa.  Such a great little thing for young kids that these stores do and it's FREE!!

Addy rolled over

Addy rolled over today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  This is something that Isaac never did and she has almost done about a hundred times and finally completed it today, despite her nasty cold.  She was laying on her back and really wanted her toy so she just rolled all the way over to her tummy like a pro, I was shocked.  When she got tired of being on her tummy she just rolled back to her back like she had been doing this her whole life.  So proud of my baby girl!!

Isaac built Addy a fort

How many of you remember when Isaac used to sleep in a "fort" with a heater.  Well....either he has a super super memory from when he was Addy's age or ....I am really not sure.  Isaac made Addy a fort the other day and called it a fort.  I am not sure where he is getting some of his vocabulary lately but he is using words correctly that I have not spoken to him about.  My thinking is he is remembering his past.  Anyway...he built Addy a fort the same way his were always built for him.  What a nice big brother because she loved it.

Addy is doing really well.  She continues to LOVE to watch her big brother and as a result rarely takes a nap.  Two kids not napping makes for one tired Mama!!  She is a very happy baby, content sitting in a variety of her toys and wants to be where ever Isaac is.  There is not much to write that is new with Addy, we will just let these pictures speak for themselves.

It's nice to live close

After two major disappointments in one morning we had to play damage control fast.  Isaac said, "do something fun."  So we packed up really fast and headed out to como for just a short time, it sure is nice to live close and have a library pass handy so the trip was free.  This trip makes the blog solely for the fact that Isaac went on the car ride for the first time and all by himself.  My little boy sure is growing up.  He of course wanted to go on his standard train ride as well, and wanted Seth to accompany him.  I got to stay with Addy and take the pictures and I must say I wasn't the only one laughing at how big Seth looked crammed in a little train.
