Fire Station

A couple weeks ago our local fire station had an open house.  Allowing the kids to go into the trucks, try on equipment, and watch them put out REAL car and stove fires.  I had a baby shower and missed the event but Seth took them and they had a great time.  I heard all about the fires when I got home.

Birthday Parties

It seems we have entered that age where Isaac and his friends are starting to have friend birthday parties.   It is AWESOME!  To see the kids so excited for their friend, and to spend time with each other outside of school doing special activities, is just awesome.  The kids have a blast and are always so well behaved.
We had quite a few parties in October, and Isaac's will be coming up very soon in November.  Here are a few pictures from just a couple of the parties.  I couldn't resist sharing...they are just so cute!

This party was Isaac and Addy's cousin Jamie.  Addy missed the party because of her asthma flare up, but seth took Isaac and they had a blast.  It was at skyzone!

a group shot, I am guessing this was as good as it was going to get.

yum!!!

The next party was for one of Isaac's best little buddies from school and they were so nice to invite little Miss Addy too.  It was a super hero themed party at the Monkey house in Maplewood.  They had capes and masks for all the kids too.

Art work

I have quite the little artists on my hands.  They love doing art projects, so we do a lot of them.  Pretty simple as that.  I am sad because our time to do them outdoors is dwindling....I like to keep the mess outside.
Oh well....it is usually well worth it.  Isaac is doing so good with his drawing lately and is always asking how to draw/make things.  I feel sorry for him that he has me to turn too for help with my artistic abilities.  For now...he seems happy with the outcomes.  These are the last couple that we did.

This first one we went on a nature walk...gathered tons of leaves, and sticks and made our own trees.  They LOVED this.

Very careful where to place his leaves

Her favorite part was the glue

Addy's tree was a pile of leaves, and sticks and glue!!!  But she was VERY proud of her tree.  She kept going to the table and pointing to it and telling me that she made that.

This project we did outside on a nice afternoon.  We got out the big paper, paint and dinosaurs.  Lately, the kids have been singing a song about dinosaurs marching.  Well...we made them march in the paint and then on the paper.  It also turned into a lesson of mixing colors to see what other colors we could make.  They had a great time doing this activity.  The end result is still hanging in the kitchen for those who want to see.  My house is really turning into quite the art gallery.

Apple Orchard

Like last year I took the kids to the apple orchard while Seth was out of town in California. We must have been there slightly too early though because there was not enough apples for picking.  The kids were disappointed in that...but still had fun doing the rest of the activities.  I also was a little disapppointed...I was hoping for some nice apples to do a little baking with.

Here are some pictures from the gorgeous warm day in mid September.
