All Smiles

Addy LOVES to smile and it is so great that she does it enough that I can catch a bunch with the camera.  She has many similar facial expressions that Isaac had as a baby, but Isaac never smiled as much as she does.  We love her so much!  To quote the smartest two year old I know, "lookin good baby, lookin good."

Como Zoo

A couple of weeks ago, on the first saturday where there wasn't any rain we decided we needed to do something fun with the kids.  We have been doing basement every weekend in the winter and yard work so far in the spring so we headed out to como park.  We were only there about an hour and a half which was just the right amount of time for Isaac and Addy.  We made it home before anyone was too hot, or crabby.  Isaac loved looking at all of the animals and even enjoyed his ride on the train much better than last year.  We hope to go again soon!

Feet feet and more feet

Oh my goodness, let the summer of hating wet feet and wet anything begin!  Isaac LOVES to play in the water but hates the fact that his feet, shoes and clothes get wet.  He also hates that when he wears his water shoes sand, mud, etc. get his feet dirty.  Seriously?!  He has mastered getting his shoes off and today came up with the idea of how to wash them without having to go in the house.  AND well Addy just loved having her feet out and decided to show them off a lot today, in hopes to get praise for how cute they are!

Today I asked Isaac if he wanted to wash Mommy's car, since he was walking around with a wet rag.  He said, "yea!"  He washed one wheel of my car, and said I wash Daddy's van.  Daddy's van got all the wheels washed and a couple doors.  Not sure why I am rating so low today when it was my idea but I am going with the fact that he knew Seth's was dirtier!!  Such a great helper!

She's Shy

He loves to hold her

Isaac is telling and showing her about his hurt finger while holding her hand.
So lately Isaac's vocabulary is booming and he always seems to have something to say, and when it comes to Addy there is never a shortage of words for him.  He often will tell me what baby is doing for example: baby eating, baby drink milk, baby sleeping, baby open eyes, baby stop crying, I hold baby etc.  You get the idea.  Then yesterday he said, " baby shy, baby sleeping."  I said, " oh baby is shy." Isaac, "yes, shy she needs to sleep."  Then today he tells baby, " baby, baby cars will love you."  AND then later today the neighbor asked Isaac if she could touch his baby.  Isaac's response, " yea, her hair."  And he watched to make sure that is what she touched.  He loves Addy so much and thinks of the funniest things to tell you and tells her things often.  He shares with her pretty much everything that goes on in the day from what he is watching on t.v. to trying to get her to play cars, dance and or do anything for that matter.  I hope this LOVE continues as my babies are both growing tooooo fast!!  Here are a couple of Isaac and Addy's moments together lately.

Hi...what you doing?

Isaac has far surpassed my expectations of being a good Big Brother.  If you recall in my last post before entering the hospital I was worried about how Isaac would react to the baby.  He LOVES her and PROTECTS her already.  He wants to include her in everything he does and talks to her often throughout the day.  It is so sweet.  Here are a few examples.
1. While Isaac is watching t.v. he will tell Addy what is going on and ask her to watch with him. "watch baby, watch."
2. If Isaac is dancing to music he will ask baby to dance too.  I often have to move her arms and legs to get him to stop asking.  "dance baby, dance."
3. When Addy is crying he will tell me to get her milk.  And if someone else has her he makes sure that I know she is crying and that I should take the baby.  "Mommy Milk, baby.  Baby crying, Mommy baby"
4. He pushes her in her stroller and makes sure that if he goes outside that baby gets to come.  "baby come."
5. Often while eating a snack he will offer her some of what he is eating.  Today it was goldfish and yesterday it was his hotdog.
6. He lays by her when she is crying and often brings her blanket to her.
7. He has rescued her from getting her nose sucked out from her little cold..."stop mommy...baby crying."  He took the nose sucker and I have yet to find it again.  So protective!
8. While walking around the block he makes sure to point at his sister to the neighbors, as to make sure that they acknowledge that she is there.
9. The last one I can think of and my favorite is..."hi, what you doing?"  He asks her this many many times a day and is so cute!

Enjoy the couple latest pictures of Isaac and Addy.  I hope this love relationship continues and that they grow up being great friends.!

Last day of school

The Last day of school has always been bitter sweet for me.  Being a teacher I used to count the days from about spring break to summer vacation.  This year on Isaac's last day of school I was sad.  He was just starting to come out of his shell and become comfortable with his teachers and playing on his own, now it is over for about four months.  Although, I am going to try to stay in contact with some of his classmates I know he is going to miss the routine of going to school and the special projects he gets to make there.  His favorite time is circle/song time and I know he is going to miss that too.  I haven't been there in a few weeks because of Addy but I was shocked how well behaved, how he listened and knew exactly the routine.  I might be biased but I thought he was the most well behaved child and NEVER stole toys from other kids.  Stealing of toys is a huge problem, and Isaac would always just give his up and go find another toy, He is just so sweet!  Here are some photos from his last day with his teachers and playing.  We are looking forward to the two year old class next fall with Teacher Barb!
